Marquette Lions Club BannerWelcome to the oldest Lions Club in Michigan! Chartered on October 14, 1919, Lions have been serving in Marquette for nearly 100 years. We will be celebrating our centennial year in 2019 by hosting our SD-10 Lions convention in April and a city-wide celebration in October. Proud to be part of the largest service organization in the world, our club members serve the Lions Clubs International mission projects including; Vision, Hearing, Youth, the Environment, our Community, Diabetes and Childhood Cancer.  On a local level, we donate funds and our volunteer hours to; Baycliff Health Camp, The New Free Store, JJ Packs, Teaching Family Homes Room at the Inn, and the Warming Center to name a few.

The Marquette Lions have eye glasses donation boxes in all of the eye doctor’s offices and business vision centers. We collect used glasses and hearing aids, process them and send them downstate to be sent with Lions on mission trips to third-world countries for those in need. Our Lions mints displays are located in many local businesses. The money collected from mint sales is deposited directly in our public funds and goes 100% to help those in need. Our Dictionary Project provides dictionaries to every third grader in town. We hold a pancake breakfast each spring for a local beneficiary and you will see usproviding free vision screening to children with Project Kid Sight at fairs, sporting events, and gatherings of families and children. .

We meet at the Women’s Federated Clubhouse on the first and third Mondays of the month. Social hour begins at 5:30 pm. with the meeting called to order at 6:30 pm. The first Monday of the month club meeting is our business meeting. The third Monday of the month meeting is our program meeting. Guests are welcome at all meetings.
